Shawn Neumann

Previously board secretary for First West, Shawn Neumann was first elected as the board chair in May 2011, and recently re-elected as chair in May 2017.  He has been a member of the credit union since 1980 and has spent many years involved with the credit union. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics and history from Simon Fraser University and is the founder and president of Domain7 Solutions Inc., an Abbotsford-based Internet solutions company. At Domain7, Shawn works with a diverse group of organizations and companies, building digital products and platforms to help with digital transformation and organizational change. This experience has allowed him to bring his perspective of the rapidly changing, technology-driven marketplace to the board and its discussions.

In addition to his work at Domain7, Shawn has remained keenly interested in volunteering, both locally and internationally.

Shawn was first elected to the board in 1998.  Shawn's current committee responsibilities include serving on the Government Relations and Partnership Committee, the Investment and Loan Committee, and Human Resources Committee.  As board chair, Shawn is also an ex-officio member of all committees.

As an eight-year-old, Shawn Neumann remembers going down to the local Clearbrook Credit Union branch to open a savings account.

“My grandfather was one of the founders of Clearbrook Credit Union,” says Shawn. His grandfather was account #4 at the credit union, which would grow into First Heritage Savings and Envision credit unions, eventually becoming First West Credit Union. Shawn deposited his first few dollars in 1980 and he’s been a member ever since.
